The Arctic Jeep Expedition Blog - made possible by Iridium Satellite Phones

Iridium Statellite Phone Communications
Thanks to our Iridium Satellite Phones we will be calling in to Jeep Expeditions HQ nightly beginning July 1, 2011 so that the story of our 10,000+ mile adventure can be shared.

With our itinerary we will have many days and miles where a cell phone will just be excess gear.   Iridium Satellite Phones have the best coverage of any other service and will allow us to keep in touch with our story and most importantly in case of an emergency no matter where we are along the way.

Stop back daily during the month of July to see where we've been and what we have been doing on our way to Dead Horse, Alaska and Inuvik, Canada with many points in between.

  1. That's good. We have already an access wherever we wanted to go specially in traveling.

  2. Hello there! This is a good read. I will be looking forward to visit your page again and for your other posts as well. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about jeep in your area. I am glad to stop by your site and know more about jeep. Keep it up!
When it became obvious that the United States was eventually going to become involved in the war raging in Europe, the U.S. Army contacted 135 companies asking for working prototypes of a four-wheel-drive reconnaissance car. Only two companies responded to the request, The American Bantam Car Company and Willys-Overland. The Army had set what seemed like an impossible deadline of 49 days to supply a working prototype. Willys asked for more time but were refused. The bankrupt American Bantam Car Company had no engineering staff left on the payroll and solicited Karl Probst, a talented freelance designer from Detroit. After turning down Bantam's initial request, Probst responded to an Army request and commenced work, initially without salary, on July 17, 1940.
